Red lentils contain many nutritional values which makes it a healthy product. It is grown in many places around the world, including Poland. However, Canada is considered the largest producer (approx. 42% of world production). Already in ancient Egypt, Greece and Rome, it was the basis of dishes. It is easy to digest, has a low glycemic index and lowers the level of bad cholesterol in the blood.
A large amount of protein and valuable vitamins make red lentils widely appreciated by vegetarians and vegans. Low sodium content and high potassium concentration mean that eating lentils protects against the development of hypertension. Red lentils should be included in the diet of pregnant women or those planning to have children due to the high content of folic acid.

Preparation method: Rinse the lentils. Boil water (2 cups of water / 1 cup of seeds). Boil for about 25-30 minutes. Store in a cool and dry place.
