The natural habitat of milk thistle is in the Mediterranean regions. It is a plant from the Asteraceae family which is characterized by white spots on the leaves. It is known for its anti-hepatotoxic properties. It prevents liver damage by preventing toxins from adhering to the surface of cells. It relieves oxidative stress, inhibits the division of cancer cells and has anti-inflammatory properties. Milk thistle can be used to stop bleeding from the nose, colon and haemorrhoids.
