A method of preparing: Before cooking, soak the basmati rice for about 30 minutes and then rinse it with cold water until the water runs clear. After rinsing the rice, dry it. Pour the rice into cold water (1 cup of rice per 2 cups of water) and bring to a boil, uncovered. Cook for 10-12 minutes over low heat, covered. After cooking, set aside for a few minutes, then pour cold water and mix gently.
