Bread sourdough is a natural base for baking delicious homemade bread. It not only adds a distinct flavor, but also promotes the fermentation process, which makes the bread easier to digest. Preparing sourdough requires performing a few simple steps: waking up the sourdough, feeding the sourdough and the fermentation process. This leaven is enough to prepare about 3 loaves of delicious bread. Now you can enjoy homemade, aromatic bread made from your own sourdough starter!

A method of preparing:

Preparation of leaven: Awakening the leaven: pour the contents of the sachet into a glass jar and add 35 ml of warm water (40 ° C). Mix with a wooden spoon, cover with gauze or a paper towel and set aside until the ingredients are combined into a uniform, smooth mass (approx. 60 minutes). Feeding the leaven: pour 200 g of flour into a liter glass jar, add 200 ml of warm water (40 °C), and then add the awakened leaven. Mix all ingredients, cover with gauze or a paper towel and leave in a warm place for 12-20 hours (depending on the type of flour and ambient temperature). When the volume increases and air bubbles appear, the leaven is ready for use. Portion intended for preparing approximately 3 loaves of bread.

Bread preparation: Pour flour (1.8 kg) into a bowl and mix with salt. Add the active leaven, pour 1.5 liters of lukewarm water and knead the dough briefly until the ingredients are combined. Line a cake tin with baking paper and place the dough inside. Wet our hand with water and smooth the top. Cover with a cloth and leave for 4-5 hours in a warm place, free from drafts. Preheat the oven to 210 °C. Sprinkle the top of the risen dough with water and place the form in the oven. Bake for approx. 40 minutes.

Storage: Store in a dry and cool place, in a tightly closed container.
